This poster demonstrates how Flow Induced Dispersion Analysis (FIDA) was used to quantify human serum albumin in blood plasma and to detect anti-DNA autoantibodies in plasma from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). By tracking changes in the apparent size of a fluorescent protein or DNA indicator on binding, FIDA measured plasma protein concentration with under 7% standard deviation and distinguished patient-specific autoantibody binding to different DNA sequences. It is an example of using FIDA to quantify proteins and characterise antibody binding directly in complex biological matrices such as human plasma.
